Ciao madtux,
per installare gcc su centos , e' abbastanza facile visto che e' compreso nelle repository ufficiali di centos , se usi CentOS 5 la versione che si installa e' la 4.1.1-52 per installarlo da terminale (da root):
yum install gcc
una volta installato il gcc si trova in /usr/lib/gcc .
gcc server per esempio a compliare , se comunque apri il terminale e digiti gcc ti da sempre command not found
dal info di gcc
